Senior Adviser, G7/G20 Coordination Office, Department of the Treasury, Ministry of Economy and Finance, Italy – “G20 Italy Presidency achievements on infrastructure in 2021”

Laura Palma is a Senior Economist of the G7/G20 Coordination Unit at the Treasury Department of the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance. Laura has a strong academic background in Economics and International Affairs, and an extensive experience in the field of Development Cooperation. She has been working for the above Ministry for 14 years, after a working experience in the private banking sector. Her  interest for international affairs drew her towards the International Financial Relations, Department of Treasury. Between January 2019 and March 2020 she was positioned in the Caribbean Development Bank as Alternate Director for Italy, between November 2012 and September 2015  in the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) as Alternate Board Member for Italy and between August 2012 and August 2015 in the World Bank as Senior Advisor to the Italian Executive Director., During her career she worked in the IMF Relations Office, Department of the Treasury, and was appointed as Italian representative in the negotiations of the Paris Club., Currently she is involved in all the G20 Presidency activities and, in particular, she is engaged in the works of the G20 Infrastructure Working Group.
