Biography
Mathias Dantin is a partner at global law firm Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer. He is a highly experienced energy and infrastructure regulatory law and project documentation expert who has a particular focus on the evolving energy transition/decarbonization sector. His experience spans renewables (solar, wind), green hydrogen, biofuels, biogas, renewable heat, EV charging, battery energy storage, carbon capture and storage, corporate power purchase agreements and certificates such as Guarantees of Origin (GOs), White Certificates, voluntary carbon credits and Energy Performance Contracting. Other areas of focus in the energy sector include gas storage, electricity interconnectors, energy supply to final customers and energy/commodities trading. Mathias also advises developers on the energy and decarbonization aspects of new gigafactories with green ambitions (EV batteries, green steel, rare earths recycling, etc.). In addition to his work in the energy and infrastructure sectors, Mathias' experience also covers infrastructure transactions and projects with a heavily regulated aspect, notably in the port, telecoms, waste and defence sectors.
