How infrastructure can unlock the transitions ahead while creating the conditions for Europe’s long-term competitiveness, sovereignty and resilience
Infrastructure systems are required to evolve faster, more deeply and under greater uncertainty than ever before. Among the transformations ahead, the environmental transition – encompassing both energy and ecology – is the most urgent, the most complex and, in many respects, a common denominator of the digital, demographic and geopolitical transitions.
The challenge is no longer whether to transition, but how to do so at the necessary pace: how to make decisions amid uncertainty, take the right risks, align incentives and mobilize infrastructure as a major lever of systemic change, safeguarding Europe’s competitiveness and sovereignty.
In addressing this question, the research also identifies the broader conditions required to deliver all major transitions successfully.
This year’s theme, will bring together leading policymakers, CEOs, and academics to discuss how public action can effectively mobilize the needed capital in support of climate and economic transitions. (more details coming soon)
